ASSOCIATED PROJECTS
With the Grunes offshore wind project, we are hoping to make a difference in the area and to get involved with local leaders. Our goal is to use the wind farm as a stepping stone to organize positive initiatives for marine fauna and for fishing activities in general. These propositions will only become reality if the local population accepts the project.
A LOCAL INITIATIVE FOR JUVENILE
MARINE FAUNA
With local consent, we intend to create micro shelters for juvenile
marine fauna in the 50 m zone around the turbines. These
constructions will protect young marine life, highly vulnerable to
predation during their youth. Creating appropriate micro shelters
on a sea-bed that completely lacks hard substrate can have a
positive impact on the biodiversity of a feeding area. This growth
will positively impact the food chain, an event that would be
beneficial to all.

A GLOBAL INITIATIVE TARGETTING
LOBSTERS
Aware of the current troubles in the fishing industry, we hope to
revitalize the lobster population for fishing by creating specific
shelters for young lobsters.
The goal is to encourage hatched larva to attach themselves to
constructions that suit their ecological needs. This substrate must
offer nourishment and dark shelters. It offers protection against
light, tidal currents and the impact of waves; their absence can
postpone the establishment of post-larva on the sea bottom. Our
suggestion is to lead a repopulation initiative to increase the
number of post larva in the farm's zone and to associate this
measure with the installation of artificial shelters for the young
lobsters. These actions will go to increase the population of
lobsters, a highly valued commercial species which is fished on
either side of the boundary between France and the Channel
Islands.
